All Ostheimer toys are handcrafted in Germany on a very high quality level.

The soft edged form and the soft colours are typical. In the interaction with the reduced toy form, children learn to enliven the wooden figures and to use their one fantasy.

The beautiful hand carved creations are formed from sustainable hardwoods, such as maple and ash and painted with non-toxic water-based colours.

Loved by generations worldwide, Ostheimer have been handcrafting the finest natural wooden toys in Germany for more than 70 years. Inspired by the (Waldorf) educational principles of Rudolf Steiner, Ostheimer toys are uniquely designed to foster a child’s imagination. Each wooden figure is shaped with love and care with Ostheimer’s signature soft hand-sanded shapes and gentle colours. Slight differences in colour and deviations in the structure of the grain contribute to the special charm of these heirloom toys. 

We consider Ostheimer the truest “eco toys” on the planet with careful consideration given to children, people and the environment from start to finish:  using sustainable European woods from local forests, plant-based water colours and finished with organic walnut oil (as opposed to varnish) to allow the vitality of the wood to show through. All Ostheimer toys meet or exceed strict EU safety testing standards and are vegan-friendly.

INTERNATIONAL NOTES

Please note that standard post does not include tracking. Once dispatched you will assume the risk of loss and title for the merchandise. little whimsy cannot provide refunds if your items are lost in transit when shipped via standard post.


Please be aware purchaser is liable for any additional taxes/import duty that may incur during transit and/or on delivery. We do not offer refunds if you refuse the package due to customs charges. Please note shipments can often be held by customs for long periods of time, unfortunately this is beyond our control. Please ensure you are aware of the cost of these fees before you make your purchase.

To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. It MUST also be in the original packaging.

Our policy lasts 14 days. If 14 days have gone by since your purchase, unfortunately we can’t offer you a refund or exchange.

Exempt from returns: SALE section items, dummies/pacifiers, art prints and posters, gift cards. Shipping costs are NOT refunded unless the item is defective.

To initiate a return or exchange you MUST email us at hello@littlewhimsy.co.nz within 14 days of order receipt with your order number and reason for return.

You will be responsible for paying for your own shipping costs for returning your item. You should consider using a trackable shipping service or purchasing shipping insurance. We don’t guarantee that we will receive your returned item. We only replace items and cover the extra shipping fees if the item is defective or damaged.

Shipping costs are non-refundable. If you receive a refund, the original shipping will be deducted from your refund.

Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund.

If you are approved, then your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your credit card or original method of payment, within a certain amount of days.

If you receive a refund, the cost of return shipping will be deducted from your refund. If your order then drops below a free shipping threshold you will be refunded the item value less a shipping charge that would have then applied to your order.

EXCHANGES:

If you need to exchange an item send us an email at hello@littlewhimsy.co.nz and we will organise your return and exchange.

You will be responsible for paying for your own shipping costs for returning your item. You should consider using a trackable shipping service or purchasing shipping insurance. We don’t guarantee that we will receive your returned item. We only replace items and cover the extra shipping fees if the item is defective or damaged.

If you are exchanging an item due to a change of mind there will be an additional shipping charge for your replacement item.

Depending on where you live, the time it may take for your exchanged product to reach you, may vary. Your replacement item WILL NOT BE SENT until we have received and checked your return.
