Description

Wish box with a little figure inside. Small container to place those treasures that are important or those words that we want to keep.

These Grapat little things are beautifully handcrafted from solid wood. These open ended wooden pieces are made with love and sustainable materials, and they form the basis of so many aspects of play, from imaginative and small world play, to story-telling, and to learning through play in counting and sorting.  Their simple and unstructured form allow children to imagine the expression, gender and roles supporting their own emotional development and understanding of the world and people around them.

Age Group: + 18 Months

Grapat Toys is a small family run business in the beautiful region of Catalonia in northern Spain, the passion of owners Casiana and Jordi.  Made with the greatest love, care and attention to detail, Grapat toys are known for their loose parts which encourage children to play and discover freely using their own imagination.  Inspired by Waldorf principles, Grapat toys reflect the beauty of the earth and are made from locally-sourced sustainable timbers and finished with water-based dyes.  Grapat use all recycled and sustainable materials in their packaging.

Natural Markings
We love wood because it is a natural material so it always has various markings that show up in our products, making each one unique. Grimm’s toys are always one of a kind, carrying unique marks made by nature. Wood grain has changing structures and colours which serve as proof of its natural origins. The unique variations are proof of quality, not defects. Discover the markings that make your Grimm’s toy Simply Unique!

Every piece of wood has its own appearance, its own character and its own vitality. Its natural characteristics, and unique markings are therefore always to be considered. For example, dark spots on the rainbow are caused by mineral deposits. This means that if the tree had grown further, a branch would have developed at this point.

Black stripes are also something completely natural. This is the so-called pith tube or "heart of the tree". It differs from the surrounding wood by the darker colour and structure. When working on the wood, it can become completely or partially visible. This feature is part of the natural appearance of the wood. Therefore, these are not defects for us, but quality features of a natural product and as such are desired and welcome by us. We love this uniqueness of wood!

Cleaning

If you want to remove dirt from our products, simply wipe gently with a damp cloth and a little soapy water (if necessary). When drying, please do not place on the heater, otherwise, cracks may occur in the wood. Please allow to dry at room temperature. Please never clean our toys with disinfectant, hot water or similar!

How can I wash the dolls?

Our dolls appreciate a superficial and gentle cleaning with a little mild soapy water only. Please be careful and gentle when cleaning the face. The colors on the face are water-resistant, but they can fade. Please allow to dry at room temperature.

Our colours are non-toxic, water-based stains and we oil our wood products with a mix of different natural oils with linseed oil as the main ingredient. This blend consists of linseed oil, olive oil, thistle oil, walnut oil and soybean oil.
